What is a gaming license?
A gaming license is a permit granting you authorization to perform the duties of licensed position in a gaming facility.

Why do I need one?
Most, if not all, positions in a gaming facility will require a gaming license in accordance with tribal, local, state, and/or federal law.

I was issued a temporary gaming license, now what?
This means that you are still currently undergoing a background investigation process to determine if you meet the eligibility requirements to be issued a permanent gaming license. Temporary licenses are single-issue and valid for a period of 90 days.

I was issued a permanent gaming license, now what?
You were found suitable to hold a permanent gaming license. The permanent gaming license is valid for a period of two years, however your suitability to retain this license can be reviewed and rescinded at any time.

How soon can I start my renewal?
90 days prior to the expiration date of your license.

How do I renew my gaming license?
You can renew your gaming via our online licensing portal (PermiTrak) no sooner than 90 days prior to the expiration date of your current license. You must undergo an updated background investigation and review process from which you will be notified if you continue to meet licensure requirements.

How will I know when to renew my gaming license?
You will receive an automated email notification 90 and 60 days prior to your expiration date to log in to our online portal and renew, however it is your responsibility to ensure you begin and complete your application submission to allow sufficient time to process a renewal for your license. The date printed on your gaming license is the expiration date you should always abide by.

I was approved for my renewal, what is next?
You will receive an automated email notification that your license is approved. You will have call our department (559) 924-6948 to schedule a licensing appointment and surrender your old license.

I am scheduled to be on leave close to my expiration date, what do I do?
If you are within 90 days of expiration, you can log in online to start your renewal process. If you are still on leave when the process is complete, you will need to schedule an appointment as soon as you return. Please note that if your license expires while you are on leave you will still be held liable for any expiration fees.
